Foxboro mass flowmeters for difficult to measure process fluids
The curse of difficult to
measure fluids which attack, erode and corrode meter components has been lifted by the I/A
Series of mass flowmeters from Foxboro.
Other flowmeters rely
on boosting velocity to measure difficult process fluids, but this can maul
shear-sensitive fluids while measurements of the multi-phase and non-Newtonian fluids
typical of many processes can become unstable and inaccurate. |
| The
I/A series relies instead on low flow rates and patented signal processing using a
technique called synchronous mode demodulation. This gives a true 0.1% of rate accuracy,
unparalleled zero stability, a minimum of 100:1 turndown and custody transfer
certification over a full 100:1 range. Thick-walled tubing adds to
the safety required on process plants. The same is true for welds, which are situated away
from areas of high stress. And where other designs bend, Foxboros flowtube
experiences just a slight twist an added insurance against metal fatigue as
independent laboratory tests predict a mean time between failures of more than 200 years.
Diagnostics,
configuration capability and status of all process parameters are available locally at a
full-featured transmitter, either remotely through a hand-held terminal, or through a
Foxboro I/A Series system. Because authorised users can commission and configure the
transmitter from any location, start-up/operating costs are reduced and downtime is kept
to a minimum.
Foxboro also supplies
a straight-tube mass flowtube for process engineers who want straight through,
obstructionless flow plus even simpler installation. |
