e-Learning
What is e-Learning?
e-Learning can be viewed as a virtual classroom incorporating
today's media technologies; these opportunities with or without the benefit of an on-line
instructor provide a whole new approach to learning. The trainees just require a PC with
access to the Internet and a quiet area to be able to concentrate throughout their
training session.
However, e-Learning is not a substitute for instructor led
training; rather it should be viewed as complimentary to it. It can be familiarisation or
introduction to a topic before attending an instructor led course, as well as a refresher
to topics previously trained in.
Why e-Learning?
Distance learning provides a training environment where the
course participants have little or no contact with each other. However, the virtual
classroom provides the opportunity for trainees to work together by facilitating a common
communication platform within an
e-Learning model, which enables a uniform, coherent, user-friendly approach with a clear
overview of all processes, from training administration to knowledge
fulfilment.

What are the benefits?
The advantages of e-Learning to individual trainees are equally impressive,
including fast, easy access to an integrated, standardised user interface for all
courseware, with a consistently applied set of navigation tools. On-line test and analysis
of trainee performance is recorded, a re-run of the same lesson will indicate the level of
trainee improvement.
Trainees are also able to choose the most convenient time and place to enjoy
their e-Learning experience, and to structure the training program to suit their precise
individual requirement.

A major bonus for your company!
"A standardised user interface for all courseware", just what we need
to assist in the maintenance of company standards. In a situation where a number of
employees are required to attend the same training course, each trainee can follow the
identical course, thus sharing a common learning experience, an important factor
particularly in a case for example where trainees are assigned to different process plant
working shifts.
